Excel - Remove duplicates

It is a common task in data analysis to remove duplicates. Excel has a handy tool to remove duplicate rows.

Notice the last row of Bob is a duplicate, which is same as row 3.

1. Click Data > Remove duplicates

2. It will ask you to select the right columns to clean. Select the right columns then click OK.

3. Excel will do it and pop up a message box telling the number of duplicate records are found and removed, and how many unique records remain. Click OK.

4. Now you see the result with the record of Bob on row 6 is removed.
